Peter Guinta wrote an article in the St. Augstine Record in October 2005, entitled "Putnam project to affect roads in St. Johns" highlighting the impact Mariposa could have on St. Johns County.
Those two streets, Cracker Swamp Road and Yelvington Road, don't carry much traffic now. But they frame the northern and southern boundaries of Mariposa, a huge proposed development south of Hastings and west of Flagler Estates. Marcia Lane wrote an article entitled "3,230-unit town planned on county line", which appeared in the October 8th, 2005, St. Augustine Record.
According to a pre-application document in Putnam's Planning & Development Office, Mariposa's master plan calls for 3,230 residences, 679,000 square feet of office, retail and industrial space, two public school sites (including one off-site) and two athletic complexes. |
